چکیده

Along with the advantages of OFDM signals like high spectral efficiency and robustness against ISI, main drawback of OFDM signals is high PAPR. Many techniques are proposed to reduce PAPR including amplitude clipping, clipping and filtering, coding, tone reservation (TR), tone injection (TI), active constellation extension (ACE), partial transmit sequence (PTS), selected mapping (SLM) and interleaving. One of the effective methods, Partial Transmit Sequence is described in this article. In the conventional PTS (C-PTS) several inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) operations and complicated calculations to obtain optimum phase sequence, increase computational complexity of C-PTS. But in new proposed phase sequence the number of IFFT operations is reduced to half at the expense of a slight PAPR degradation. In this paper, a technique is proposed to reduce the number of IFFT operations to half at the expense of a slight PAPR degradation. Simulations are performed in Matlab with QPSK modulation with OFDM signal.

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a useful technology in wireless communications that provides high-rate data transmission in multipath fading channels. The advantages of OFDM systems are the high spectral efficiency and strong resistance to frequency selective fading. In OFDM systems, a large number of sub-carriers are used to modulate the symbols causing the time-domain OFD...

PAPR Reduction in MIMO-OFDM Systems using Modified PTS and SLM without Side Information

Limiting the peak to average power ratio (PAPR) to an acceptable level is of great importance to MIMO-OFDM systems. Otherwise, a series of undesirable interventions due to the large PAPR is encountered, such as inter-modulation distortion and outof-band radiation. In this paper, we have proposed a modified partial transmit sequence (PTS) scheme and implemented a new selected mapping (SLM) techn...

A Low-Complexity Scheme to Reduce the PAPR of an OFDM Signal Using Taguchi-Genetic Algorithms

In this paper, we proposed a weighting factor estimation method for peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) based on Taguchi-genetic algorithm (TGA) in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. Partial transmit sequences (PTS) is one of the most attractive schemes to reduce the PAPR in OFDM systems. However, the conventional PTS scheme requires an exhaustive searching over all co...

Efficient Papr Reduction of Ofdm Signal Using Pts Technique with Hybrid Partitioning Method

The high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) is one of the major problems of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems in wireless transmission. Therefore, partial transmit sequence (PTS), a promising scheme that can provide good PAPR reduction performance, has been proposed for OFDM transmission to eliminate distortion. The PTS method divides the input data block into disjoint s...
